Portland Jewish Film Festival

The Portland Jewish Film Festival (PJFF) celebrates the Jewish experience through film.  The Festival presents films which provide a forum for dialogue about Jewish heritage, culture and identity.

Background

The Film Festival began in 1991, on a modest scale at the Oregon coast for a weekend of films along with the comments of local film critics.  The festival is now one of the oldest in the country and screens annually fifteen to seventeen Jewish-themed films, drawn from countries all over the world. Attendance is now over 2,000 each year.

We anticipate growing the Festival into having more of a year-round presence with more events, such as receptions and visits from film directors, leading up to and during the Festival itself.
