Lessons from History
Prof. Meir spoke about the eclipse of traditional Jewish ways of life and the crisis that sparked among Russian Jews searching for something that they could call "genuinely Jewish" in the modern age. The answers ranged from Jewish nationalism to ultra-traditionalist Orthodoxy to cultural Yiddishism, and beyond.
